Is this right for my child?

Does my child need any experience?
No. GL-101 Foundations assumes zero experience — no coding, no special computer skills. By the end of the first class every student has already made a real webpage. Students who already know some coding can be placed into a higher course at the onboarding assessment.
Isn't this just more screen time?
This is the opposite of scrolling. Students come to a room, sit with a teacher and other students, and build — a website, an app, a tool someone can actually use. They leave every class with something they made and homework that's a project, not a video. Most parents tell us it's the first screen time that produces something they can show a grandparent.
My child isn't a “math kid.” Will he keep up?
Yes. Modern building with AI is far more about describing what you want clearly and checking the result carefully than about advanced math. Students who are strong readers, careful thinkers, or just curious usually do very well. Classes are small enough that the instructor works with each student individually.
Is 12 too young? Is an adult too old?
Twelve-year-olds do beautifully — they build faster than most adults because they're not afraid to experiment. And adults are half our program: separate men's and women's classes for people learning a parnassah skill or building tools for a business.

Class & scheduling

Are classes really separate for boys and girls?
Yes — four fully separate classes: boys 12–17, girls 12–17, adult men, and adult women. Each has its own class hour and its own Studio practice hours. There is never a mixed class.
Are you open on Shabbos or Yom Tov?
Never. The school is closed on Shabbos and Yom Tov, always. Friday hours end at 3:00 PM sharp, well before candle lighting.
What if we miss a class?
Courses run continuously and the instructor works with each student at their own pace, so a missed week doesn't leave anyone behind — the student picks up where they left off. There are no refunds or credits for missed sessions, but we'll help your student catch up.
How big are the classes?
Small and capped — that's the whole model. Every student gets one-on-one attention from the instructor during the guided-build portion of each class.
Can my child join mid-course?
Yes. New students start at Level 1 (or higher, based on the onboarding assessment) whenever they enroll — you're never waiting for a semester to begin.

Tuition & payment

What does it cost?
During our launch special every course is 50% off: Level 1 $500 (reg. $1,000), Level 2 $600 (reg. $1,200), Level 3 $700 (reg. $1,400), Level 4 $1,000 (reg. $2,000). Same price for teens and adults. The only other charge is a $99 annual fee covering the onboarding assessment, your student's own @geulahlabs.com email address, and their first month of Claude.
Can I pay in installments?
Yes — at checkout you'll see buy-now-pay-later options (Klarna, Affirm, Afterpay) that split the tuition into scheduled payments. You're enrolled immediately either way.
Is there a sibling discount?
Yes — 10% off for each additional child from the same family.
What is the AI Studio, and do we need it?
The AI Studio is a practice room, not a class: one supervised hour a week (plus Friday open hours) for students to work on their own projects. It's optional, $100/month, and available only to students enrolled in a course. Many students do great without it; it's there for the ones who want more time to build.
What's your refund policy?
All sales are final — no refunds on tuition, the annual fee, Studio membership, or private lessons. Our commitment is simple: we teach the student. Full details in the terms.

Equipment & AI tools

What does my student need to bring?
A personal laptop to every class — Windows or Mac from roughly the last 6 years, with at least 8 GB of RAM (16 GB is better). Laptops are not provided. We have free WiFi at the studio, but a personal hotspot is a good backup.
What AI tools do students use, and what do they cost?
Primarily Claude — the same professional AI we use to build real client products. AI subscriptions are billed to the student, and the $99 annual fee includes the first month. We handle the setup at onboarding so nobody is stuck configuring accounts in class.
Do you require a kosher filter?
We strongly recommend that every student's laptop have a kosher filter installed before the first class. TAG (Technology Awareness Group) is the address most families in our community use — they'll set up filtering on a laptop for you, and it takes very little time. If your student's device is already filtered through TAG or another service, wonderful; just let us know at onboarding so we can make sure the tools we use in class work alongside it. We're happy to talk it through with you before you enroll.
Is the AI safe for my child to use?
Students use AI for one purpose here: building software, with an instructor in the room the whole time. We set up their accounts at onboarding, work is done on class projects, and the instructor sees what everyone is building. We also recommend a kosher filter on the student's laptop before the first class (see the next question). If you have a filtering setup at home you'd like us to respect, tell us at onboarding.

Results & what comes next

What will my child actually have at the end?
Real, working things: a personal website live on the internet, apps they built themselves, and by Level 4 a complete product with a database and logins that they deploy and launch publicly. Every course ends with a Demo Day presentation and a certificate.
Can this become a parnassah?
That's the goal of the path. Level 4 ends with a session on earning with these skills — freelancing, building for local businesses, and what real projects bill for. We make no promises about anyone's income, but students finish with a portfolio, a GitHub profile, and skills businesses pay for right now.
Do you guarantee results?
No. Our sole commitment is to teach the student well. We don't promise a specific skill level, project outcome, or pace — that depends on the student's effort as much as our teaching.
